About lifecovers

Built to explain. Not to sell.

A lot of life insurance information online comes from sites trying to sell you something. lifecovers does it differently: free education, plain English, no product to push. When you want a real conversation, we connect you with a licensed partner practice.

Why we exist

Life insurance is genuinely hard to research. We think plain-English information helps.

Product-ranking sites have products to sell. Insurer sites promote their own cover. General personal-finance media rarely goes deep. Most information available comes from someone with a product to sell. lifecovers publishes explanation, not promotion, and fills that gap.

How this is funded

We're not paid for referrals. Fully disclosed.

When a reader fills in our enquiry form, we pass their details to a licensed Australian partner practice. lifecovers currently receives no payment for that referral: not from the partner, not from any insurer, not from you.

What happens

You enquire → we refer → a licensed practitioner aims to call you back

We pass your details to a single licensed partner practice. They run the conversation: no panel, no auction, no marketing list. One call, one practice.

What you pay

Nothing.

The site is free to read. Enquiring is free. The callback is free. If you take out cover, the partner earns their own remuneration from the insurer. None of it comes to lifecovers, and you pay zero to lifecovers.

What we don't do

No ads. No sponsored content. No insurer payments.

We do not sell advertising, run sponsored articles, accept payment from insurers for editorial coverage, or produce ranking lists. We are not paid for referrals. If that ever changes, we will disclose it here first.

Editorial standards

What lifecovers does (and what it does not do)

We are not a financial services licensee. We are an editorial team. These are the rules we enforce before any page goes live.

We do

  • Publish plain-English education about Australian life insurance
  • Use Australian regulatory sources (APRA, ASIC, ATO, Moneysmart, ABS) for material external claims
  • We aim to review product and regulatory content at least quarterly, and show a reviewed date where one is maintained
  • Connect enquiring readers with a single licensed partner practice
  • Disclose how the referral model works on every page

We do not

  • Provide personal financial product advice (we are not licensed to)
  • Endorse, rank, or score insurance products or insurers
  • Publish guest posts, sponsored articles, or AI copy passed off as editorial
  • Take payment from insurers in exchange for editorial coverage
  • Sell or rent your personal information

Our editorial approach

Three things that keep us honest

These aren't marketing values. They're the decisions we make on every page.

01

Australian sources only

Where we rely on external figures or rules, we use Australian regulatory and statistical sources, never American or British data as a stand-in. The products, regulators and tax treatment are different.

02

Describe, never score

We explain how products work. We do not rank insurers, score policies, or hold one product up against another. Comparisons like that can amount to financial product advice, which requires a licence. We don't rank, score or recommend, full stop.

03

Quarterly review cycle

We aim to review product and regulatory content at least quarterly, and show a reviewed date where one is maintained. When law, product structures, or regulator guidance changes, the affected pages are updated, not left to go stale.

04

One practice per enquiry, not a panel

When you enquire, your details go to a single licensed Australian partner practice. Not an auction. Not a panel. One referral, fully disclosed.

05

No obligation to proceed

Reading is free. Enquiring is free. The callback is free. You can walk away at any point: after reading, after the form, after the call. The partner practice contacts you about the enquiry you submitted, nothing else, unless you ask.
